Alaska Highlights

This is when we first got on the Disney Wonder. It was so cold compared to both Africa AND Michigan! Luckily there was a hot chocolate machine!
Lucy was pretty jetlagged the first couple of days on the ship and we found ourselves walking around the ship at 2:30am watching the workers clean the boat. It was actually very fun and relaxing.
The scenery was amazing throughout the entire trip. We actually took over 400 pix but just chose a few to share on the blog. The decks were huge and a great place for Lucy to practice walking and for JL to play with his cars.
It was amazing how the landscape continued to change throughout the cruise. It was a beautiful backdrop to our meals and playing around.

We went into Tracy Arm which is a Fjord. There was a naturalist that was narrating the whole time and we got to see the scenery from the deck and our balconies. We saw whales and seals and lots of birds.

The pools were constantly filled with kids even though it was in the 50s most of the trip. Crazy kids!
No Disney cruise is complete without lots of pictures with the characters! JL and Lucy loved to see and touch them- they weren't scared at all.

Both JL and Lucy ate very well on the cruise- lots of salmon and hot cocoa mixed with milk.
Hanging out on our balcony.
Abuelos and Tio Ivan had the cabin next door so we could visit through out balconies!
JL and Lucy loved to play in the window holes. It was unreal how beautiful the scenery was throughout.
JL and Lucy rarely made it to dinner since we were in the 2nd seating which started at 8:15pm. We would feed, wash, and put them down around 7pm and use the on board cell phones the cruise provided as a baby monitor. We only had to run back one time, and even that was a false alarm.

The ports were super fun but not much for the kids to do- mostly touristy shopping.
We did find one park in Skagway were lots of other cruise kids were playing as well. Tio Ivan and Papi were pretty aggressive with the pushing here...
JL LOVED LOVED LOVED the heated pool! He loves to drink pool and bath water- so gross! He met and played with lots of kids and was very comfortable in the water. Only 2 feet deep.
We usually had a snack and walked around while JL was playing.
Really fun times!
This picture is taken by me from the pool looking up the the next deck where Papi and the goose are hanging out. The clock on the rail was key for all the parents to know how much time had passed- otherwise, the kids would stay in the pool for hours and miss their meals!!
The Mickey shaped pool. I almost went in- but it was way too cold for me.
Mendenhall glacier.
Abuelo Jaime, Lucy and I hiked to the waterfall adjacent to the glacier. I have never been this close to a waterfall before!
The kids had a great time hanging out with Los Abuelos y Tio Ivan!

Captain Hook- ready for the pirate party.
Walking around Ketchikan.
Lucy loved to touch the characters. It is so fun to see their faces when they see Mickey and the crew- everyone is so excited and the characters are always so animated!

Funny face!
This is right before Lucy flipped out and started to cry. I was so amazed at how the characters looked just like the cartoons!
